This is the complexity that makes them beautiful and which tempts so many of us to take up the challenge of learning them. Languages are the result of billions of conversations over hundreds, even thousands of years. While teaching Mandarin as if it was Spanish is very common, it wasn't good enough for us. We spent all that time carving a unique path through each language to allow English-speakers to learn better and faster. In the eight years since then we’ve handcrafted seven language programs, each one individually tailored to the needs of real learners. Several years ago we set out to create the language-learning program we had always wanted for ourselves. So basically they make hundreds or thousands of people buy their program with false advertisement in 3 consecutive years. And now in 2021 they sent the same email, still no HD. I asked them again about the HD version and got the same response that many languages do not have it yet although in the email all programs are advertised as HD. They send the same email a later in 2020. Apparently there wasn’t a HD version for most of the languages. In the first year I emailed them to find out if I can upgrade my Spanish to HD version.
Since last 3 years they have been emailing their database and telling their customers that programs are high definition (HD). And of course there are some sounds and symbols that will seem completely new.Fooling their customers by advertising the videos as HD since last 3 yearsįirst of all I have to point out that The Fluenz program is a good although they are not innovative and the app gets minimal attention. There are a fair amount of letters in the German alphabet that will look and sound either familiar or similar when compared with English. There also a series of combined letters and 3 umlauted forms (umlauts are dots placed over vowels). The German alphabet consists of 26 letters much like English. It’s a noble effort on Rosetta Stone’s part, but in practice using only pictures simply isn’t as effective when it comes to more advanced material. With German’s complex grammar system you can imagine how difficult if might be to nail down all of the rules and exceptions using absolutely no translations. This is because Rosetta Stone uses zero English and sticks to using pictures to teach you the meaning of a word. However Rosetta Stone becomes less effective when you get into more complex grammar concepts.
